Waitrose is a British supermarket chain and the 6th largest grocery retailer in the UK. It is the food division of the John Lewis Partnership, under which its name is now Waitrose & Partners. The brand has a reputation for being a more “upmarket” place to shop. Waitrose also supplies food for the more trendy online-only retailer Ocado. When you use the “Shop Online, We Deliver” service from Waitrose, there is a minimum spend of £60, but delivery is free. You can book a delivery slot from the times and dates available, which will depend on your postcode. Somebody over 18 years old must be at the address to sign for and accept the delivery. They won’t leave groceries unattended.
Waitrose Late Delivery Phone Number
You will select a 2-hour time slot for delivery on a date of your choosing when you place your grocery order on the Waitrose website. In your account, you can request delivery updates by text message. Waitrose should then text you when your delivery driver is 15 minutes away. If there is a delay, then the driver should attempt to contact you. They will call you from a withheld number and advise you on when you can expect your delivery. If there are severe and adverse weather conditions, then delays may be very likely. However, if there is no obvious reason for a delay and you have not received any calls or messages from Waitrose, then you should call Waitrose on their number.
When you call the Waitrose Customer Care team, you will have to choose options to get through to a person. Press 2 for “Grocery or Entertaining Orders” and press 2 again if you are still waiting for your delivery. Make sure that you have the details of your order ready (the order number, delivery address, and time slot). They can track your delivery for you and explain the reason for the delay. Sometimes, if you miss the delivery driver, they will leave a card. This will ask you to call Waitrose and arrange a new delivery time, though it may not be possible for them to redeliver on the same day. If you do not contact Waitrose then they will cancel your order and issue a refund for the groceries.
Waitrose Late Delivery Online Contact
The fastest way to get updates on your Waitrose delivery is to call them on the phone. If you send an e-mail to the Customer Care team, then it will take longer for them to get around to reading and responding to it. However, if you are not happy with the situation even after receiving your late delivery, then you could send a complaint via e-mail. You can contact Waitrose by e-mail at customersupport@waitrose.co.uk or customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk. Include the details of your delivery and what has gone wrong. They will reply to your enquiries and complaints as soon as possible. You can ask Waitrose to contact you on your phone number if you would prefer to receive a call.
Waitrose Late Delivery Compensation
As Waitrose is an upper-class supermarket, you might expect their service to be of that level. So if something does go wrong, you should expect an apology and normally some form of compensation. Since the delivery is free, you cannot ask for a delivery charge refund if it arrives outside the 2-hour time slot. However, you can complain about poor service and inconvenience. You can do this by phone call, e-mail, or on social media. Publicizing Waitrose’s mistakes on Twitter or Facebook can get their attention and make them likely to offer compensation as goodwill. This could be a discount or voucher for your next shop, or a free gift such as a bottle of champagne – or even both!
